OUR ORGANISATIONS
At Horeb Mar Thoma Church, our Sunday School is more than just a place of learning — it is a nurturing space
where faith, values, and character are built for life. We believe that guiding our younger generation with the
teachings of the Bible and Christian principles is essential to shaping them into compassionate, responsible,
and mature individuals who make a positive impact in society.
Sunday School is conducted every Sunday at 8:00 AM with eight levels of classes, from Nursery to ProudaVakup,
and each level is divided into two sections — First Year and Second Year. Children are allotted to their classes
based on age, with Nursery being the entry-level class and ProudaVakup as the highest class. The syllabus for
each class is formulated by the Mar Thoma Sunday School Samajam, Thiruvalla, and textbooks are also provided by
the Samajam. To ensure systematic learning, two examinations are conducted annually — the Half-Yearly and the
Final Exam. This structured system ensures that every child progresses gradually in faith, knowledge, and
character as they grow.
Through engaging lessons, interactive activities, songs, and fellowship, we aim to instill strong moral
foundations and a deep love for God in the hearts of our children. Our dedicated teachers, with prayerful
commitment, mentor each child to grow in wisdom, faith, and kindness, preparing them to face life’s challenges
with courage and grace. The Sunday School at Horeb is not only about spiritual education but also about building
friendships, developing talents, and learning to serve others selflessly — shaping the leaders of tomorrow in
both faith and life.
The Choir of Horeb Mar Thoma Church plays a vital role in enriching our worship experience. Through heartfelt
singing and harmonious music, the choir uplifts our Holy Mass and prayer services, helping the congregation
connect more deeply with God.
Songs in worship have the power to prepare our hearts, inspire our spirits, and draw us closer to the presence
of the Lord. Our choir uses this gift of music to guide the congregation into a deeper atmosphere of prayer,
praise, and thanksgiving.
Every hymn and melody is offered as an act of devotion, transforming each service into a spiritually moving
experience. With dedication and unity, the choir strives to glorify God and lead His people in worship that
truly touches the soul.
The Sevika Sangham of Horeb Mar Thoma Church is a dedicated fellowship of women committed to serving God and the
community. Formed and led by the women of our parish, this ministry works to strengthen the spiritual life,
fellowship, and service among adult women in the church. Meetings of the Sevika Sangham are conducted every
Wednesday at 10:00 AM, providing a regular space for prayer, study, and fellowship.
Through prayer meetings, Bible studies, charitable activities, and active participation in church events, the
Sevika Sangham seeks to nurture faith, support one another, and extend Christ’s love to those in need. Rooted in
dedication and compassion, the Sevika Sangham continues to play an important role in building a strong,
prayerful, and service-oriented women’s community within our church.
The Mar Thoma Edavaka Mission of Horeb Mar Thoma Church, rooted in the vision “Every Marthomite is a
missionary”, is a fellowship dedicated to fostering spiritual growth, evangelism, and outreach within the parish
and beyond. It emphasizes that every member is called to be a witness to Christ, actively participating in
sharing the Gospel, engaging in intercessory prayer, and living out their faith in daily life.
Meetings of the Edavaka Mission are conducted every Monday evening at 7:00 PM, either in the church or in the
houses of parish members, where the community gathers in prayer, Bible study, and fellowship. These gatherings
create a strong foundation for spiritual renewal, mutual encouragement, and collective mission work.
With a vision to be a vibrant community rooted in prayer, service, and the Word of God, the Edavaka Mission
seeks to meet both the internal spiritual needs of the parish and the external call to outreach. Through its
ministries, it continues to build a prayerful and mission-minded church that spreads the love of Christ in word
and action.
The Horeb Mar Thoma Development Society is a fellowship of the Mar Thoma Sabha established to support and uplift the underprivileged.
Rooted in the vision of enabling all to experience an “abundant life,” the society is committed to promoting developmental initiatives, advocating for the rights of the marginalized, and fostering community growth.
Within the Horeb Church, the Development Society plays a vital role by encouraging active participation from members in various developmental activities.
It also strives to enhance the financial well-being of church members through small loan facilities and chitty programs, thereby empowering individuals and families to achieve financial stability and progress.
The Horeb Mar Thoma Senior Citizens Fellowship is an official organization of the Mar Thoma Sabha established to nurture the mental, spiritual, moral, cultural, and physical well-being of senior members through fellowship and empowerment.
As one of the newly formed fellowships in the church, it seeks to build a strong sense of community among senior members by encouraging active participation in church activities, organizing community prayers, and fostering spiritual growth and mutual support within the congregation.
The Horeb Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam is the youth fellowship of our parish, dedicated to nurturing the younger
generation in faith and fellowship. The members include children above 13 years up to the age of 35, making it a
vibrant group of young people who play an active role in the life of the Church.
The vision of the Mar Thoma Yuvajana Sakhyam is to see young people within the Mar Thoma Church embrace Jesus
Christ as their Lord and Savior and to become witnesses to His saving power. Its mission is to guide them to
live a Christian life rooted in the study and application of God’s Word, fostering a strong connection with the
Mar Thoma Church and encouraging them to impact society with Christian values.
At Horeb, the Yuvajana Sakhyam meets every Sunday after worship for fellowship and spiritual enrichment. Beyond
the regular meetings, members remain actively connected by coordinating and organizing various church programs,
gatherings, and festival events, thereby strengthening unity and bringing fresh energy to the parish community.
